WORKSHOP

3 July 2021
1030 – 1200

Learning Objectives

  • Cerebral Oximetry
    1. Understand basic theory of near infrared spectroscopy and pitfalls
    2. Familiarize the presently available clinical monitors and future devices/techniques
    3. Describe the present treatment paradigms and device usage
  • Evoked Potential Monitoring
    1. Facilitate the optimization of baseline evoked potential signals and interpret intraoperative signal changes
    2. Interpret baseline evoked potentials and signal changes for specific intracranial and spine cases and identify common pitfalls
  • Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography
    1. Describe the principle and evidence-based applications of Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography
    2. Enumerate diagnostic TCD criteria for (a) cerebral vasospasm, (b) neurological complications during carotid endarterectomy and (c) cerebral circulatory arrest

Synopsis of Workshop

This workshop on Neuromonitoring will include separate interactive sessions with case discussions on Cerebral Oximetry, and Evoked Potential Monitoring and Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography.
